Build Rite Construction has built custom homes across Southwest Michigan and Northwest Indiana since 2009, on your lot or one we help you find. Every project runs on one fixed-cost budget agreed before we break ground, so you know what your home costs while it is still a set of plans, not after the framing is up.
Our own insured crew builds the home, and one team stays accountable from the first design conversation through the final walkthrough. That is how the details hold up: engineered framing, high-efficiency insulation, and drainage detailing that protects the home for generations on shoreline and inland sites alike.
Our process, step by step
- Consultation. We sit down with you to understand the home you want, your site or the site you are considering, and your budget. If you do not have a lot yet, we help you evaluate options, including the shoreline and dune considerations specific to this region.
- Design. We collaborate on the design in-house or work alongside your architect, then refine the plans until they reflect how you actually want to live.
- Fixed-cost budget. Before any ground is broken, we turn the plans into one fixed-cost budget. You approve it, and that is the number we build to.
- Build. Our crew walks the site every day. We manage framing, mechanicals, and finishes on a coordinated schedule and keep the job clean and organized.
- Handover. We complete a detailed walkthrough with you and hand over a home that is finished the right way.

Our own crew builds the custom built-in woodwork that sets these homes apart, from entryway and hallway millwork to master built-ins, trim, and custom doors. Clients consistently call out the millwork, doors, and windows as top quality, and it is one of the details that makes a Build Rite home feel finished rather than assembled.
Where we build
We build throughout Southwest Michigan and Northwest Indiana, including Harbor Shores golf-course homes and Lake Michigan lakefront builds in New Buffalo, St. Joseph, Stevensville, and the surrounding Harbor Country communities. On shoreline sites we handle the critical dune regulations, high water-table drainage, and setback requirements that lakefront building in this region demands, so a Build Rite home is engineered for where it actually sits.
